My 5-Week Weight Chart

My 5-Week Weight Chart...

Remember.... Only pay attention to your weekly averages (my first one is 155.4 and my last one (today's) is 151.6). They are highlighted in pink. I'm not crazy about showing my weight, but if it will help others, then I'm ok. Going by my chart, I haven't lost a lot, YET, but I have lost inches!! Plus, I have more energy and getting healthy!!   After today, I will only weigh once every 3 months. Yeah, that's a long time, but I can stay away from my scales. I prefer other IF victories, especially when I have others wanting to join me.  I hope this is helpful!  IF WORKS!!!  I love it!!
Have a super day, Folks!!! May God Bless!!

Looking Back!!

Looking Back!!!
I started IF (Intermittent Fasting) for the first time on March 25, 2018. My friend, Cindee P.  Bumpus Eds, told me about IF and shared with me about her great start. I was so impressed. I prayed about it for several days and decided to try it. I really wasn't sure if I could fast for long periods. but I DID!! I have hypothyroidism and after I was in iF for only a few months, my thyroid (blood) levels were increased!!!! So my doctor decreased the medicine (Levothyroxin) dosage. That was the first time my dosage had been decreased ever!! I lost inches faster than I did weight, which I believe was about 20 pounds, but I had more energy and felt better. I was also happy because even though I was decreasing portions of sweets, I was still able to eat what I wanted during my eating window. I've learned to listen to my body. I started on a 16:8 schedule and stayed with it  because it works for me. Some days I go 18:6 though.
I'll back up a minute...in the past 40 years, I've been on a few different diets, such as Weight Watchers. It worked good and I lost about 25 pounds, but I got tired of counting points. After being on IF, I don't ever want to go on any other weight loss program. Intermittent Fasting is a lifestyle , NOT A DIET!!!.
I've been on and off of IF since Sept  of 2018, but I've felt my best when I was on it. So, I've made a commitment to God and myself, that I'll stay on it forever. It's totally worth it!!!
I restarted IF on March 25, 2020 (5 weeks ago) and have lost 5-5.5 pounds, but I've also lost inches!! I don't usually weigh daily but I've been doing it so I could chart it. I will be finished charting tomorrow and will post it tomorrow. If you're interested, you'll see how it's done. The principle is to figure the weekly averages. Don't focus on the daily loss or gain. This is for the ones who want to weigh daily, but I discourage it and so does Gin. She (Gin Stephens) has written several books on IF'ing and explains it very well. Her first one is "Delay, Don't Deny". I've read it twice and rereading it now. Even though I will post some quotes by her (personally permitted) throughout my blog,I highly recommend you reading it if you choose to try this eating lifestyle. You can still ask me questions. If I don't know the answer, I will find it asap. She has a chart like the one I made, different numbers, in that book. After tomorrow, I will weigh only every 3 months, but will measure every month while I'm trying to reach my goal, which is 120 and size 8  Petite.
I will say that IF is a slow weight loss process for some but it's worth it because of the healing process is the star benefit. As I've said before, I've been on several programs and diets, but IF is the best one for me!!
  Have a blessed day!!!

Welcome!!!

Welcome!!!  First of all, I'd like to introduce myself for some of you who don't know me. My name is Vickie Carpenter Berryhill and I'm married to a wonderful man, George (Bubba) for 36 years. We have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. I will mention them more in future posts. We live in Little Springs, Ms. (Southwest Ms.) in the country, with several pets. I dearly love my family and friends, but God is the most precious!! Without God, I am nothing!!  My purpose for living is what God desired in his creating me, to glorify Him!!! My life has purpose!!!  I believe I can glorify him better by being a living sacrifice , being healthy physically, Spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. I will share these different areas later. So...My Focus Verse for my blog is Romans 12:1, which reads, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable into God, which is your reasonable service."
I will be blogging mostly about my journey with Intermittent Fasting eating lifestyle, but will share my passions of my faith, being a Nana, crafting, baking, writing, and reading.
I plan to post at least twice a week SO Stay Tuned Folks!!! Have a great evening!! Please feel free to make comments!! May God Bless!!
